Although I suppose I've been fascinated by design for most of my life (mostly in the from of building things with Lego), it took on a more serious form after I discovered a laser cutter at the university where I was studying at the time. Soon after, I started to look into 2D- and 3D design software to be able to make the step to production and prototyping in general.

Fast-forwarding through my time at several other universities in a variety of countries, each with their own facilities to make things, I eventually got my own equipment to be able to fine-tune the machines for the projects I had in mind. At that point it also outgrew pastime and evolved into Atelier de snijhoek.
